AKA "Hold my Mug..." (This pattern includes the smaller Es. version of 2 Rounds) A small motif that can be used for an array of projects or as a small coaster to protect furniture surfaces/or add décor color. The size is prefect for the bottom of a Mug, Teacup, large Tumbler, a bottle/tall vase, candle stick mat or as a base/doily for ornaments. The Peachy orange with Chocolate combo adds earthy warmth and happiness for the sunny season or when its cold and grey outside. The grounded color combination and petal like motif also lends to a warm sunny retro or mid century themed home with creams and wooden themes. Using a DK light garn held worked as two threads worked together along with the main peach medium weighted garn and medium weighted Chocolate brown, and 5mm crochet hook, adds both texture and fiber interest to the motif. These doily's also make great bowl inserts for breakage protection when bowls are stacked in the cupboard... The origins of this peace is inspired by a Motif in a vintage Throw Blanket by Novita. After completing the throw with some changes to the motif I ended up ripping it back. I have decided to go the more heirloom round with motif throws this year for lighter throw weights but also a more timeless look. However I have decided to go medium weight in my motifs in small pieces and homewares. Happy Hooking :) Size & Gauge"A small Doily or Motif with Three rounds, worked to end up to end up 12.5cm in diameter." Ingredients...Garn in:

Recipe...Starting Circle...In Peach (A). ch4, slip to 1st ch, and twist hook anticlockwise to face back to left (turns the starting stitch to face flat opposed to sideways) Round One..Continued in Peach (A). ch3 (counts as 1st dc) dc1 around circle and tail, ch2 space... *dc2 around circle including any tail* repeat x 5 times (dc2 clusters: ch2 spaces x 6) Tie off with a small tail and sew BOTH TAILS IN Tail Note: with the staring tail if a closed circle or hole less look is desired as I have here, simply pull the tail first before sewing in the end and tightening that end as you go, if need) Round Two...Color change to work in Blood Orange (B). Holding two strands together tie in and secure into a ch2 space opposite to where you left the peach, motif right side facing. Insert hook to grab the blood orange strands from the front/yarn over, pull through (this counts as ch1 around the ch2 space) Twist the hook anticlockwise to face back to left (turns the starting ch stitches to face flat opposed to sideways) ch2 (the 1st dc of the round complete) dc1 around the same ch2 space, ch1, dc2 around the same space, ch1... Continue this schema around, *dc2, ch1, dc2 around the ch2 space, ch1* repeat x 5 times. slip to top of stitch at the beginning of the round (dc2 ch1 dc2 clusters: ch1 spaces x6) Tie off with a small tail and sew in ends. (Note: If you stop here, you will have the 2 round Es. version of this motif complete)Round Three...Color change to work in Chocolate Brown (C). Tie in and secure into a ch1 space opposite to where you left the blood orange, motif right side facing. Insert hook to grab the brown strand from the front/yarn over, pull through (this counts as ch1 around the ch1 space) Twist the hook anticlockwise to face back to left (turns the starting ch stitches to face flat opposed to sideways) ch2 (1st dc of the round complete) dc2 around the same ch1 space, ch2... Continue this schema around, *dc3 around ch1 space, ch2* repeat x 11 times. slip to top of stitch at the beginning of the round (dc3 clusters: ch2 spaces x 12) Tie off with a small tail and sew in ends. Viola! Optionally... Block or even sc1 or slip1 stitch into each stitch (and around the ch spaces) around for slightly more solid outline/extra size or hold. I chose a light edge for the look I want, so did not add an extra sc or slip round.
