Created in the tide of Midsomers Litha. Its January ending here and yet again the goal of organization has a more poignant kick than my usual obsession with organization. To add to my tidy up mindset is that many lines of garn I have are no longer available or simply not quickly accessible (I.e. not at my local Spotlight store here in Ballarat) So first off I need to separate off the old from the new and as I sort my news, I will create swatches for them. Swatches to take in store, swatches to check for appropriate stitch/color in a project and swatch to file. I further my organizational madness I have divided the DK range from the Spotlight stores (4 seasons 8ply) into Flora and Fauna. Flora Swatches; 1) Zinnia (Peachy Apricot Orange) This post 2) Sunflower (Yellow to Cream) 3) Rose (Reds to White) 4) Peony (Deep to Light Pinks) 5) Violet (Lilac to Deep Purple) Fauna into; 6) Woodland (Brown) 7) Dark Forest (Black to Dark Green) 8) Clover (Light to Medium Green) 9) Hosta (Blue to Dark Blue) 10) Aquatic (Light to Sea Blue) IngredientsThe Zinnia SwatchFor now I'm hooking together the zinnia swatch in this post with the 4 Seasons Marvel 8 ply 100% Acrylic in Peachy Apricot or Orange tones 'Zinnia'
Size...8.5 x 6.5 cm plus 3cm loop Please note: Depending on the dye used on your garn the size may vary smaller or larger with the same garn/brand. You could adjust your stitches for uniform swatches, but I like to keep mine true for I can then better ascertain whether the garn would be suited to a project or not... Tools...
