It’s the little details that make a home, and lighting plays a large part to set the tone. When I first moved into this current home I found these discarded satin pendant ceiling light shades, and decided to claim/up cycle them later on. Also when it comes to Macramé it isn’t necessary to splurge on cotton rope. Creative effects can be achieved with different textiles or even chunky yarn, with the latter adding a nice soft effect. The yarn I used in this project was half a skein of a leftover baby blanket soft 5mm acrylic. The finished pendants were soft and cloudy as a result of this yarn, using simple larks and knots into diamond fringes. I do have a very long windy hallway with two ceiling light fittings, so I just made two of these fringed pendants for continuity. This was a project from 2020, in the old house in Spotty. FinishingTrim both inside and outside fringes according to desired lengths, in which I find helpful to do so from a hung or assembled pendant hang for accuracy.
