The scarlet red hue is great for Autumn Mabon to Winter Samhuinn, Summers Bealtainne and the passion that summer's beginning brings and Midwinter’s Yule. The flowers can be used in arrangements or even on the windowsill or altar spaces. I do prefer fresh but that is not always available and with these they can be used year after year symbolically for the seasonal tides with red/scarlet red. Overall the Gerbera daisy represents innocence, purity, and cheerfulness. The color Red Symbolically and energetically, orange is related to courage, strength, sex, or major changes, including men's sexual health. The color can also be magnified with red stones such as; Bloodstone, Coral, Garnet, Red Jasper or Ruby. In the home decor it is a stimulating and opulent color which creates movement, activity, and excitement. It stimulates the appetite in more ways than one as well as conversations. Rooms such as the dining room, playroom or hallways benefit most from this color. From coral red to deep scarlet, it can be a main focal point of layers or just an accent using the color wheel theory. When feeling tired, drained, a lack of red in one's life can mean that exercise needs to be taken or a better diet to be followed along with splashing this color into one's life. I bought these long stemmed Gerberas as part of my first box haul for Samhuinn season gone in 2018. From the chapter 'faux fauna' Daisies are native to north and central Europe. The origin of the word Daisy is the Anglo Saxon was called this because daisies open at dawn as the day just starts to begin. The Gerbera daisy was discovered in 1884 near Barberton, South Africa, by Scotsman Robert Jameson. While the flower’s scientific name, Gerbera Jamesonii, recollects the name of its founder, the meaning of its common name draws from German naturalist Traugott Gerber. Breeding programs that began in England in 1890 enhanced the flower’s quality and color variations.
