Vintage striped macrame knotted yarn instead of lace or voile, charmed with ethel runes above a miniature goddess shrine, for ritual baths - ☽ ✧ - Δ - ✧ ☾ - Something that looks stunning as a beaded curtain alternative to a doorway, also in place of window netting or lace. Every room in my abode is sacred to me for some work or other is practiced there including recuperation and working with my ancestors and gods. It is in this vein that I have knotted two Ethel runes into this piece which hangs above aminiture shrine with a goddess statue. Using 4mm yarn and even sequin yarn, the effects are more delicate that the usual corded knot macrame. The sequin catches and throws light around an small space night or day and brings an old world feel. Like stepping into a vintage parlour where art deco and warm hues catch the eye. This was the first decor diy I did for this sacred space of soaking in the tub, immersing in the element of water as I call upon the other elements in connection. More diys for this space will be coming for this winter 2018 in Australia, stretching from Samhain to midwinters Yuletide. From Chapter 'macrame' Before... What I Used;
